  • Energy efficient heat pumps SAVE money

Unlike conventional electric hot water systems, heat pumps don’t heat the water directly. They use electricity to keep the compressor going. Smart renewable technology drives the pump to draw heat from the surrounding air. It then transforms ambient thermal energy into hot water.

A Heat Pump Hot Water System does not require gas or sunlight to provide your home with all the hot water your need. It is 350% more energy efficient than traditional water heaters.

The size of your water heating system should match your household requirements:

215 litre capacity – is ideal for families of three to five people
430 litre capacity – this twin system is ideal for families of 6 or more people

One size does not fit all

  • Hot water needs vary from family to family and we have your needs covered.

  • The New South Wales Government’s, Energy Saving Scheme requires a minimum customer contribution of $33 per home.

How do heat pumps make hot water?

1. Draws surrounding air: A fan draws in air, containing heat energy, across the evaporator.
2. Turns air into gas: The evaporator turns the liquid refrigerant into a gas. The compressor pressurises the refrigerant into a hot gas.
3. Heats water with gas: The hot gas inside the condenser coil heats the water inside the coil-wrapped tank.
4. Produces hot water: The refrigerant reverts back to a liquid after heating the water and continues to the evaporator for the process to start again.

How heat pumps work

  • A heat pump works in much the same way as a refrigerator or air conditioner. The heat pump extracts the heat from the surrounding air. It draws the air over the evaporator where compressed refrigerant gas emits heat under pressure. The heated gas runs through the condenser coil which is wrapped around the water heating tank. After heating the water, the gas returns to its liquid form and flows back into the compressor where it is compressed and the whole cycle starts again.
